Your Manuscript
Send Your First Chapters to us for review. Let us Give a Professional
Review of Your Book.
Upon receipt of your chapters, Blue Feather Web will
review it. We take great pride in our professional review of YOUR book. We will then send
you our review, and if accepted for publication, we will lend our thoughts on your covers and custom marketing. We keep your pride and joy extremely confidential. We
hold it in high regard. We take the publishing difficulties away from you!
If you have ever tried to self-publish before you will know that Blue Feather Web
will be accepting a lot of the headaches for you in the world of publishing.
Blue Feather Web has the right to decline any book that morally does not sit
well in our hearts to publish. We also conduct PAID reviews if this is
what you are after.
The Editing Process For Books and Digital
We edit your manuscript, re-edit a book that you have
already published, and end there or we can
take it to FULL Publishing for you in print and digital. After a signed agreement with Blue Feather Web is in
house, we will then start the editing process of your book. The process
for editing your book to digital form is the same as for print. We make sure
that it is set up correctly in the format that is appropriate either for print and/or for digital
(Nook and Kindle have Different Formats) (if that is your
choice). We start editing! Be as specific as you can in reference to
fonts, font sizes, headers, page numbering, footers, names of chapters, etc.
We also will work closely with you to make sure your book conveys exactly what
you wish.
Did you know, that the average time it takes for
an author to self publish is over 4 years from first manuscript to
published? Let Blue Feather Web cut that down to 6 months.
What's the best part of being a published author,
as opposed to an unpublished author? You get to see your book in
print; you get to make money doing something you love; you get to share your
story with the public, and talk about your work, etc etc.
Another best part of being a published author is
that you get to work intensively with a very gifted editor, Sandra Marie
Hall, who knows how to glean the real story behind your story – editing
sounds simple, but just believe, it isn’t.
Authors adore having a professional copyeditor.
Another set of eyes and an opinion to help you along the way of this journey
called "A Published Author". Editors are not just “this word is
spelled wrong” and “this sentence is missing an adjective” type. Blue
Feather Web and Publishing is in a different class entirely.
Give your book the chance that it deserves and
give it the Blue Feather Web and Publishing edge... whoa! We don't
just highlight typos, correct sentences that aren’t quite right, we are
exactly the same as a continuity editor that works on movie–making scenes
and make sure that actions in your book aren’t duplicated or missing
altogether, keeping character's behavior consistent, and pointing out any
other inaccuracies or corrections that should be made. Here are a few
examples; clarity of characters, flow of movement, time frame inaccuracies,
sentence formation, rhetorical references, redundancies.
We know that it is a luxury for you as an Author
to have your novel go through this editing process – but it constitutes as
close to a "perfect finished version" to be published. Isn't that what
you want as an Author?
Here's credit to the invisible copy-editors
everywhere for making new and seasoned authors alike look great!
Editors are AWESOME!!!
The publishing process is the same for digital as
it is for print but the length of time is MUCH shorter. We can publish
your book in a week after it has been formatted and edited correctly.
For the
Barnes and Noble Nook and for the Amazon Kindle we have publishing accounts
with both and are expanding all the time for any other digital reader
you wish us to publish to. We can publish directly to digital if you wish
first, then to book form, both or one or the other.
Your ISBN Number and UPC Code for Sales
The ISBN number that is assigned to your book pertains
to many facets of your book's development. It is the code that the Library
of Congress uses and all major bookstores use to categorize your book, and price
your book with the booksellers i.e.
Is it Fiction, Sci Fi, Non-Fiction, Academic etc?
The UPC code is used only for
pricing your book (if is it going to be marketed) with any bookseller. You
will not need an ISBN number or a UPC code if you are just wishing to have your
book published for your own use. We can take your book to any stage you
wish. If you do want to publish for sale you will need these two codes.
Blue Feather Web will also help you to valuate your pricing. Think about
your type of book. What is selling out there today? Blue Feather Web will help guide you when the time
comes!
Cover Designs
While the editing process is in the works, we can have
our expert award winning graphic artists work on your ideas for your covers.
You will need to think of your front cover and the back cover and the spine (if
it is going to be in print). Is it a Hard
Back or Paperback or digital? What size do you see your book being? Blue
Feather Web will help you to come to the perfect size, quality and covers for
your book!
First Proof (Print or Digital)
After your book and covers have been approved by you,
we will then print a proof. The proof will be mailed to you. After
receiving your proof, and reviewing it, you will contact us and
approve or edit your book one more time before it goes to full print. It is at
this time that you can order extra copies to be printed and mailed to you!
Going to Print
After you have approved your book, and placed any
orders for it, we will then talk about the marketing and promotion of your book!
We have a trusted partner in the marketing and promotion of your book and they
can set you up with You-tube Movie Trailers for your book. they also have
Author Chats where you can sit at your own home computer and chat with your
readers, there is face book marketing, and also building a web site for you.
the possibilities are endless for promotion. When we get to that stage we
can help you and direct you.

From Amazon.Com
Amazon Now Selling More Kindle Books Than Print Books
Amazon
began selling hardcover and paperback books in July 1995. Twelve years
later in November 2007, Amazon introduced the revolutionary Kindle and
began selling Kindle books. By July 2010, Kindle book sales had
surpassed hardcover book sales, and six months later, Kindle books
overtook paperback books to become the most popular format on
Amazon.com. Today, less than four years after introducing Kindle books,
Amazon.com customers are now purchasing more Kindle books than all print
books - hardcover and paperback - combined.
"Customers are now choosing Kindle books more often than print books. We
had high hopes that this would happen eventually, but we never imagined
it would happen this quickly - we've been selling print books for 15
years and Kindle books for less than four years," said Jeff Bezos,
Founder and CEO, Amazon.com. Since April 1, for every 100 print books
Amazon.com has sold, it has sold 105 Kindle books. This includes sales
of hardcover and paperback books by Amazon where there is no Kindle
edition. Free Kindle books are excluded and if included would make the
number even higher.
Marketing Your Book to Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com
After a marketing and promotion agreement has been
signed with Blue Feather Web, we will start marketing your book to major
booksellers internationally and nationwide. We first target Barnes and
Noble.com and Amazon.com. This is where we will also talk about digital
formats and pricing and get started marketing your book!
